Accurate reporting or propaganda?

Lying in the news? Never.

Watch this....

Two quotes I would like to point out.

"questions about whether this has racial overtones. Here you have a man of color in the Presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists or their legs."

"Anger about a black person being president"

Did MSNBC bother to look at the person that was "highlighted" in their news clip? They did some artful cropping to portray THEIR side of the story...their propaganda if you will.

A photo of the man "in question" is below.

Be careful what you hear and what you believe.

Some interesting media outlets

Everyone wants to be a part of this inauguration CNN has teamed up with Facebook to cover all the days events.

Kodak is posting photos from Kodak Gallery users and others

1.20.09

At the suggestion of a like-minded friend (we are both media enthusiasts-but sit on "opposite sides of the aisle") I am going to try to live blog today.

Today is really just like any other inauguration day. We as a nation have elected a man to run our country and on January 20 he will take his place as the leader of the free world. It was like this eight years ago, in 1793, and 1969. Would this same kind of exposure and excitement have happened if an African-American republican or woman had been elected?

All the talk of hope and change. These are not new words nor new concepts. We should always anticipate hope and change with a new president. How President elect Obama choose to approach these changes should be new and different.

My hope for today is that those who voted for Obama are willing to accept that he will make errors and any change will take time to be successful and those who didn't vote for him are willing to accept a different point of view. We must remember that it was not a landslide that voted Obama into office but 53% to 46% of the vote.
